A report on the opening of ADS Round 2012 was broadcast in the 23:00 News – VTV1 on Thursday, February 2nd 2012. There were the interviews with H.E Mr. Allaster Cox – Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and Mr. Graham Alliband – Team Leader, ASDiV.

   

Dr. Can Van Luc, ADS Alumni 2007, currently Senior Advisor and Senior Vice President, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), who completed a PhD Business Administration (major in Finance) at Monash University, speaks about how the experience of studying in Australia has helped her contribute to Vietnam’s financial development.

   

Ms. Nguyen Phan Que Mai, ADS Alumni 1996, currently Communications & Gender Consultant, who completed a Bachelor in Business Administration, Monash University, speaks about how the experience of studying in Australia has helped her contribute to Vietnam’s development.

   

This clip shows the people of Phuong Dien and Phuc Dong communes in Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province receiving flood relief supplies from a group of Australia Awards alumni in October last year. The flood relief was organized by the alumni among their places of employment and the broader community. They personally delivered 500 gift packages and other in-kind donations to 500 flood stricken households in the two communes. Read more.

   

A video produced by VTV showing excerpts of the Pre-departure Briefings held at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi in December 2010 for Australia Awards scholarship recipients. The awardees will all commence post-graduate studies at Australian universities in 2011. The Pre-departure Briefings are designed to provide information to awardees on scholarship benefits and obligations and advice on study and living conditions in Australia.

   

A HTV program introducing the Australian Development Scholarships featuring an interview in Vietnamese with Graham Alliband, Team Leader, ASDiV Program. There are interviews also with two ADS alumni, one a university lecturer and the other an official in the General Customs Department. The program was shown on HTV 2 in July 2010.

   

At a ceremony at the Australian Embassy in October 2010, Captain Le Hoang Duong, Ministry of Public Security, accepted the “highest-ranking international student” award in achieving his Master of Transnational Crime Prevention at the University of Wollongong (2008-2009). Captain Duong was a recipient of an ADS award. Captain Duong was interviewed by Graham Alliband, Team Leader, ASDiV Program.

   

“Nguoi xay to am” is a very moving talk show on VTV 1 about three outstanding ADS alumni and awardees who are ethnic minority women. Their inspiring stories touched every heart and sent a strong message to people in the audience - “where there’s a will, there’s a way”. They are bright, hardworking and all three have a strong passion to develop themselves and contribute to Vietnam, especially to the advancement of ethnic minority women. The show was aired on VTV1 in June 2010.
